My name is Amanda, I’m 29 and a single mom to a lovely toddler girl, Genevieve. I have a soap & toiletry company, Veve’s Handmade. I call my daughter Veve, and the company is named after her.

In early 2009 I lost my job. I was actually relieved, it was a toxic environment and they had me working so many hours my home life was suffering. I spent the next few months focusing on the things that are important to me. I cooked amazing meals from whole ingredients, made my own non-toxic cleaning products and grew an organic garden. All of this led to making my own bath and beauty products. Soon my house and all my friend’s houses were overflowing with yummy treats for the skin so I decided to start a business.

Running my own business has been the hardest and most rewarding job I’ve ever had. I still struggle every day to find a work/life balance. But every day I wake up knowing how lucky I am to have this life, surrounded by supportive family & friends and doing something that I love and feel good about.
